The Technical and Test Laboratory service unit operates both as part of the research department and part of the whole Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering department. The Technical and Test Laboratory team supports the lecturers in carrying out practicals, with the students' projects and theses as well as assisting the R + D staff in carrying out projects and services. The team assists various research units and their managers in planning, purchasing, operating and maintaining their laboratory infrastructure, equipment and apparatus according to their strategic needs as well as those of the department and the divisions. They also look after the laboratory's energy supply, power/electricity, compressed air, air-conditioning, extraction, etc. They compile safety concepts, instruct and train the staff and monitor the implementation of the concept.
The team is also responsible for keeping to the framework conditions for accredited examinations and for quality management. The technical staff members also bear joint responsibility in individual laboratory test areas.
The aim of the Technical and Test Laboratory service unit is especially to build up its expertise constantly to support the divisions’ and department’s whole positioning process and to play an active part in supporting their development and implementing their strategies.
